The Principal says: “We are excited at the opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and caring teacher with great interpersonal and teaching skills to teach Te Reo Maori, Tikanga Māori and Toi Whakaari (Māori performing arts) across the school. The successful applicant must be passionate about children, lifting their learning achievement and enhancing their well-being. Applicants should teach Te Reo Maori to NCEA Level 2 and be able to support Level 3 students learning through NetNZ distance learning
The school is long-established with strong iwi affiliations and teachers are eligible for both the Isolation and the High Priority Teacher Supply Allowances. A Management unit may also be available for a suitable candidate and school housing is available at a very cheap rate. As well as this the east cape has many attractions such as tramping, fishing, diving and other water based activities.
Positive and caring, fully trained experienced teachers are encouraged to apply but they will consider dynamic beginner teachers.
